Technology is Our Future
Saint Patrick Catholic School is well equipped with the latest technology devices with a 1-to-1 program in 4th through 8th grades to include iPads, Chromebooks, and laptops. Lower elementary classrooms share a set of iPads used in centers. Students are exposed to multiple operating systems including both iOS and Windows. Weekly computer classes are given to students in Kindergarten through Middle School. Students focus on keyboarding skills from 3rd through 8th grades using an online tutorial program.
Saint Patrick School is a Google for Education participant. Students have Google accounts and all become proficient in the Google Suite through assignments encouraging creativity, logic, and research. Introductory lessons in computer programming are given to grades 4 through 8 through various sources including Code.org and Khan Academy.
Digital citizenship- the student’s role as a member of a digital society and his or her responsibility with technology- is discussed throughout the school year and implemented into the weekly lessons.
