The entire faculty at Saint Patrick School is certified to teach in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or certified by the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA). Our leadership and faculty are dedicated to continually advancing their education with advanced degrees and other workshops or collegiate coursework. DR. SALLY NICHOLSON - PRINCIPAL
Dr. Nicholson is a graduate of the University of Kansas, and holds degrees in Elementary Education, and Educational Policy and Leadership. She brings a wealth of experience as well as a deep love of our Catholic faith to St. Patrick School. Her experience includes work as an educational consultant, college professor, program director, and school administrator. Dr. Nicholson has worked in both private and public institutions, from K-12 schools to four-year colleges. She is thrilled to be able to call St. Patrick School and parish her new home.

MARTHA MASSAD - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Mrs. Massad is the heart of the Saint Patrick School. As the Administrative Assistant she manages the school office, provides first aid to many of our students, and is an expert at multi-tasking. Over the years, Mrs. Massad has held various positions within the school. She is a Fredericksburg native and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a B.A. in Economics.

My name is Maureen Goonan and this is my 21st year teaching Preschool. I earned my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education through Germanna Community College in December 2018 along with my daughter, Jennifer's degree in General Studies, posthumously. My twin boys John, and Jeff as well as Jennifer, all graduated from St Patrick School. I am committed to making every child's preschool experience a joyful and successful one while learning about God's love for us. I would like to think that parents will remember me for the many many ME books (scrap Books) I have made throughout the years. I feel so blessed to be teaching here and have received so much more love, kindness and understanding from our preschool students and parents than I have given to them!!
Mrs. Wujick is a preschool aide. She earned her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and her Master of Social Work from VCU. Her three children attended St. Patrick School from preschool through eighth grade, and Mrs. Wujick has been active in various aspects of school life. She is very excited to work with the preschool children and share her faith in Christ with them.
Ms. Virginia Storm is a Preschool Aide. Ms. Storm truly enjoys helping the preschoolers to learn. Her prior experience includes being the Secretarial Assistant at the office of Matthew T. Storm, D.D.S., and working at Hazelwild Farm as a Summer Camp Riding Assistant/Counselor.
LOWER SCHOOL - KINDERGARTEN
Carla Gonzalez has been the kindergarten teacher at Saint Patrick School since 2012. Before becoming a teacher, she received a degree in Design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia and had her own frame and art shop before becoming a stay at home mom for several years. Her passion for education, youth development, and the Catholic faith inspired her to pursue, and later receive, her dual degree in Elementary and Special Education from Holy Family University. Being a kindergarten teacher at Saint Patrick allows her to share her passions with those around her and to grow in her faith. In her free time, Carla enjoys painting, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and two boys.
LOWER SCHOOL - KINDERGARTEN
Mary Jane Gowarty
Mrs Gowarty joined our teaching team when her children started attending St. Patrick’s. Prior to that she was a school wide volunteer and was named Volunteer of the Year for her extensive contributions of time and energy. As teacher’s aide in Kindergarten, she has created many tools for the students and parents to help guide their educational success. She has been a Girl Scout Leader and also co-founded the Charitable Acts Club, where students worked on crafts projects that are blessed upon completion and given to others in need of special prayer.
LOWER SCHOOL - 1ST GRADE
We welcome Sandra Valdez to our faculty as the 1st grade teacher. Mrs. Valdez has been teaching for 7 years. Mrs. Valdez graduated with an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development and later with a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education from Cal State University Long Beach, CA. She also holds a Single-Subject Foreign Language Credential in Spanish.
LOWER SCHOOL - 1ST GRADE
Mrs. Dort is the first grade aide for Saint Patrick School and this is her 20th year working at our school. She is co-sponsor of the National Junior Honor Society. Prior to joining the First Grade classroom, Mrs. Dort worked in Saint Patrick School’s Preschool.
LOWER SCHOOL - 2ND GRADE
This is Mrs. Klinge’s fourth year teaching second grade at Saint Patrick School. Mrs. Klinge has previously taught Kindergarten at Saint Patrick School for 5 years and second grade for 4 years in Spotsylvania County. LOWER SCHOOL - 3RD GRADE
Mrs. Talsma has been teaching third grade at Saint Patrick School for 17 years. She is currently the PTO faculty representative for the school. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota and a graduate degree in Elementary Education from the Mary Washington College for Graduate Studies.
LOWER SCHOOL - 4TH GRADE
This is Mrs. Lane’s eighth year teaching at St. Patrick School. Mrs. Lane is the 4th grade homeroom teacher, and also teaches Technology to Kindergarten through 8th grade. Mrs. Lane is the webmaster, a PowerSchool administrator, and runs the Newspaper Club along with Mrs. Fregoso. Before teaching she had been the yearbook co-editor, a PTO Board member, and a substitute teacher. Two of her daughters have graduated from St. Patrick and the youngest is in 8th grade. LOWER SCHOOL - 5TH GRADE
Mr. Parker is back for his 2nd year teaching at St. Patrick School, this time in charge of the 5th Grade Homeroom. He will also teach Science to the students in the 6th and 8th Grades. Mr. Parker holds a Bachelor's Degree from Virginia Tech, Majoring in Animal Science, with a Minor in Biology. In addition, he has an Applied Science Degree in Medical Technology from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. He earned his teaching certification through Germanna Community College. This year Mr. Parker will be in charge of organizing the Middle School Electives, and will co-sponsor the NJHS. He has enjoyed spending the past 8 years at our school serving in many roles, including “Room Dad,” PTO representative, and substitute teacher. He is looking forward to another exciting year.
Megan is proud to be a St. Patrick School Alumnus. She has been teaching at St. Patrick’s for 12 years. Over the years she has taught 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Mrs. Corvetti is the 7th grade homeroom teacher and this is her 2nd year at St. Patrick School. Mrs. Corvetti teaches reading to 7th and 8th grades, religion to 7th and 8th grades, Course 2 and Algebra 1. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Elementary Education from Nazareth College of Rochester, NY, and a M.S. in Reading Education from Adelphi University, NY.

SPECIALS, EXTENDED DAY & FACILITIES
This is Mrs. Frey’s eighth year as the Spanish teacher to grades K-8. She also teaches 4th grade Religion and History. Mrs. Frey has a B.A. in Elementary Education and a minor in World Languages, and is endorsed in ESL. She has been teaching in the public schools and private schools for 15 years. PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
Mrs. Fregoso is in her 9th year of teaching at Saint Patrick School. She taught second grade for five years and fifth grade for three years. She currently teaches Physical Education and math for fourth grade. She and Mrs. Lane run the school’s newspaper club. She earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University.
Mrs. Warnick is in her 4th year as the Music Teacher at St. Patrick School. She has taught Band for the past 7 years and co-directs the middle school musical and school Mass choir. She graduated from Towson University (Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with a concentration in trumpet) and holds a Virginia Collegiate Professional Teaching License . Prior to teaching at St. Patrick's, she also taught high school music (concert band, marching band, jazz band, wind ensemble and percussion ensemble) in the Maryland public school system for two years. All four of her children are students at St. Patrick’s. Mrs. Warnick loves sharing her passion of music with all of the students at St. Patrick's School!
Mrs. Engel has been teaching at St. Patrick School for 2 years. She graduated from the University of MD with a degree in Fine Arts. For 15 years she had a small business where she did decorative painting and murals. For the past 2 years, she has been selling her artwork online and at art shows.
Mrs. Dvorak has directed the Saint Patrick School Library for the past 21 years. She coordinates library classes, volunteers, and maintains/updates the library book and media inventory. Mrs. Dvorak has an M.S. in Education and came to us after retiring from the Fairfax County Public Schools with twenty years of experience. firstname.lastname@example.org
For many years Mr. Duffy has been the maintenance man, morning greeter, and Guardian Angel program coordinator for Saint Patrick School. He has quietly and respectfully provided food baskets, household supplies, and emergency funds for many families in need. Mr. Duffy assists St. Patrick School with just about anything we might need.
Margaret McClay has been an active member of Saint Patrick School and Church since the very beginning. Since 1991 her many positions have included: Secretary, Preschool Aide, Kindergarten Aide, Extended Day Manager, PTO President, as well as teaching in the Religious Education classes. She was married to the late Deacon McClay and has three children, two of which graduated from Saint Patrick. Her daughter Sister Bernadette is a Benedictine of Mary, Queen of Apostles in Missouri. Currently, she has three grandchildren; two have graduated from our school and the other will soon follow. In her spare time she likes to power walk with her dog.
Krissy Roberts is a member of our extended day staff. This is her 8th year working in extended day. She has worked with children since 1998 in pre-schools and daycare. In 2000 she worked as an aide in kindergarten at St. Patrick and a substitute teacher for grades K -8. Mrs. Roberts also volunteered for library duty while her children attended St. Patrick. Working with children has always been her passion as well as being a mother. she has been a member of the parish since 1989.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Mrs. Santay is in her first year as our Marketing & Communications Coordinator. She has been a board member of our PTO and spent the past three years as one of our substitute teachers. She is currently the Race Director for the St. Patrick Mud Run and Harvest 5k. Mrs. Santay attended the University of Washington and majored in Marketing. She and her husband have two children, currently both students at St. Patrick School.
Church Music Director
Mr. Ciskanik (Mr. C) has studied music from an early age and began organ lessons at St. Andrew's Chapel in Woodberry Forest, VA. He earned a Bachelor's of Music in Organ Performance at the IU Jacobs School of Music and a Master's Degree in Sacred Music at Notre Dame University. His teachers include Wallace Hornady, Janette Fishell, Jeffrey Smith, Bruce Neswick, and Craig Cramer. Coursework also included music education, keyboard pedagogy, and youth choir training. Before arriving at St. Patrick’s, he worked as Music/Liturgy Director and Teacher at Queen of Peace Parish and School in Mishawaka, Indiana.
