The entire faculty at Saint Patrick School is certified to teach in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or certified by the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA). Our leadership and faculty are dedicated to continually advancing their education with advanced degrees and other workshops or collegiate coursework. Sally Nicholson


Dr. Nicholson is a graduate of the University of Kansas, and holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a master's and doctoral degree in Educational Policy and Leadership. She brings a wealth of experience as well as a deep love of the Catholic faith to St. Patrick Catholic School. Her experience includes work as an educational consultant, college professor, program director, and school administrator. Dr. Nicholson has worked in both private and public institutions, from K-12 schools to four-year colleges. She is thrilled to be a member of the amazing faculty and staff at St. Patrick Catholic School.



Mrs. Massad is the heart of the Saint Patrick School.  As the Administrative Assistant she manages the school office, provides first aid to many of our students, and is an expert at multi-tasking.  Over the years, Mrs. Massad has held various positions within the school.  She is a Fredericksburg native and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a B.A. in Economics.

LOWER SCHOOL - Kindergarten

Lisa Klinge
This is Mrs. Klinge's first year back in Kindergarten. Mrs. Klinge has previously taught Kindergarten at Saint Patrick School for 5 years and most recently, second grade for 8 years (4 in Spotsylvania County and 4 at St. Patrick School). She earned a B.A. in Social Work from Limestone College and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington. In her free time, Mrs. Klinge enjoys hiking and camping through National and State Parks with her husband and son.




Mary Jane Gowarty
Mrs. Gowarty joined our teaching team when her children started attending St. Patrick’s. Prior to that she was a school wide volunteer and was named Volunteer of the Year for her extensive contributions of time and energy. As teacher’s aide in Kindergarten, she has created many tools for the students and parents to help guide their educational success. She has been a Girl Scout Leader and also co-founded the Charitable Acts Club, where students worked on crafts projects that are blessed upon completion and given to others in need of special prayer.



LOWER SCHOOL - 1st Grade

Carla Gonzalez
Carla Gonzalez has been at Saint Patrick School since 2012, first as the Kindergarten teacher and currently as First Grade teacher. Before becoming a teacher, she received a degree in Design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia and had her own frame and art shop before becoming a stay at home mom for several years. Her passion for education, youth development, and the Catholic faith inspired her to pursue, and later receive, her dual degree in Elementary and Special Education from Holy Family University. Being a teacher at Saint Patrick allows her to both share her faith with the children and grow in her own faith. In her free time, Carla enjoys painting, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and two sons




Missie Dort
Mrs. Dort has been working at Saint Patrick School for 21 years. In the past she has worked in preschool, co-sponsored the Student Government, and started the chapter of The National Junior Honor Society. Mrs. Dort says her love of God and her love of children combine to make Saint Patrick School the best job she has ever worked. She has two daughters who have both pursued education as their careers. In her free time she enjoys camping with her husband, coloring and needlework.




Chanell Frey
This is Mrs. Frey’s first year teaching second grade at Saint Patrick School.  She had previously taught Spanish for K-8th grade students at Saint Patrick School for 8 years.  Before coming to Saint Patrick’s, Mrs. Frey was a second and third  grade teacher in the Stafford County public school system. Mrs. Frey has a B.A. in Elementary Education and a minor in World Languages, and is endorsed in ESL. She is  working on her Master's degree in Curriculum Planning and Instruction. She has been the SGA advisor for the past 5 years.





Annette Talsma
Mrs. Talsma has been teaching third grade at Saint Patrick School for 18 years. She is the PTO faculty representative for the school.  She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota and a graduate degree in Elementary Education from the Mary Washington College for Graduate Studies. She is married with two sons and three grandchildren.




Tara Bartosik
This is Mrs. Bartosik’s first year teaching at Saint Patrick School. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and is working towards a master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction. Mrs. Bartosik has ten years of teaching experience in first, fourth, and fifth grades. Her family is recently retired from the military, so she has had the pleasure of teaching in different states in both public and private schools. She is thrilled to begin teaching at Saint Patrick School and she has three daughters who will be attending this year also. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, cooking, watching movies, and spending time with her family.




Michael Parker
Mr. Parker is excited to be back for a 3rd year teaching at St. Patrick School. Majoring in Animal Science, with a Minor in Biology, Mr. Parker holds a Bachelor's Degree from Virginia Tech. In addition, he has an Applied Science Degree in Medical Technology from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. He earned his teaching certification through Germanna Community College. After nine years at Saint Patrick, Mr. Parker's twin sons graduated this past year and are attending Saint John Paul the Great High School. Mr. Parker enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and going to movies. He is looking forward to another exciting school year.




Megan Eny
Megan is proud to be a St. Patrick School Alumnus. She has been teaching at St. Patrick’s for 14 years. Over the years she has taught 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Megan graduated from Longwood University with her BA in Education. Mrs. Eny is happy to be part of the middle school team and enjoys working with the middle school students! She says they bring a smile to her face daily!




Jeanne Corvetti
Mrs. Corvetti is the 7th grade homeroom teacher and this is her 4th year at St. Patrick School. Mrs. Corvetti teaches reading to 7th grade, religion to 6th and 8th grades, English to 6th and 7th grades, and Algebra 1. Mrs. Corvetti has been married for 36 years and has six sons. She has been a parishioner at Saint Patrick for 17 years. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Elementary Education from Nazareth College of Rochester, NY, and an M.S. in Reading Education from Adelphi University, NY.




Lilly Cleary
Mrs. Cleary is happy to be teaching Middle School for her twenty-eighth year of teaching at Saint Patrick School. Mrs. Cleary has previously taught First Grade, Preschool, and Spanish K-8. Mrs. Cleary has been married for 34 years and has 3 children, all of whom are St. Patrick School alumni. She is the testing coordinator, a DFE committee member, a co-director of the Middle School musicals, and is currently working with the 30th Anniversary Committee to help plan ways to celebrate our 30th year.




Jerrianne Taaffe
Mrs. Taaffe is thrilled to join St. Patrick School as the Middle School science teacher for grades 6 and 8. She has enjoyed working as a substitute teacher at St. Patrick School for the last three years and fondly remembers teaching 7th- and 8th-graders at St. Patrick many years ago. Mrs. Taaffe taught Middle and High School students in both public and Christian schools for 15 years prior to staying at home with her son and then traveling overseas for her husband’s work. She graduated from Mercer University in Macon, GA with a BA in English and Education. Her son is a senior at the Savannah College of Art and Design and she recently celebrated her 34th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Taaffe feels very blessed to be a part of the St. Patrick School family once again.




Technology Teacher/ Coordinator/ Coach

Justine Lane
This is Mrs. Lane’s ninth year teaching at St. Patrick School. She is currently the technology teacher for Kindergarten through 8th grade. Mrs. Lane is the PowerSchool, Schoology, and Google Administrator, Technology Coach for the faculty, and webmaster. She also runs the Student Newspaper Club.  She is a Google Certified Educator. Mrs. Lane has also taught English and science to both middle school and 4th grade. Before teaching she had been the yearbook co-editor, a PTO Board member, and a substitute teacher. All 3 of her daughters had attended St. Patrick School from Pre-3 through 8th grade. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from West Virginia University.




Rachel Warnick
Mrs. Warnick is in her 5th year as the Music Teacher at St. Patrick School.  She has taught Band for the past 8 years and co-directs the middle school musical and school Mass choir.  She graduated from Towson University (Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with a concentration in trumpet) and holds a Virginia Collegiate Professional Teaching License .  Prior to teaching at St. Patrick's, she also taught high school music (concert band, marching band, jazz band, wind ensemble and percussion ensemble) in the Maryland public school system for two years.  She is the proud parent of a St. Patrick School alumni and her remaining three children are students at St. Patrick’s.  Mrs. Warnick loves sharing her passion of music with all of the students at St. Patrick's School!



Art Teacher

Betsy Engel
Mrs. Engel has been teaching at St. Patrick School for 3 years. She graduated from the University of MD with a degree in Fine Arts. For 15 years she had a small business where she did decorative painting and murals. For the past 2 years, she has been selling her artwork online and at art shows.

Annie Heisler
Annemarie Heisler is very excited to start teaching PE at St. Patrick School.  She  graduated from Christendom College in the spring of 2019 with her bachelors in Philosophy.  She moved to Pittsburgh and worked as a 1st grade aide at a Catholic school.  Annemarie is thrilled to be able to continue to work in an environment centered around Christ, while pursuing her passion of teaching.




Katie Goriup
This is Mrs. Goriup's first year teaching Spanish K-6 at Saint Patrick School.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government/Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University.  Mrs. Goriup taught third, fifth, and sixth grades in Fairfax County for sixteen years before becoming a stay at home mom and then a preschool teacher's aide and substitute teacher at Saint Patrick School.  Her son is a Saint Patrick student along with her niece and nephews.




Evelyn Wolfe
This is Mrs. Wolfe’s first year teaching at St. Patrick Catholic School. She taught Spanish at St. Michael Archangel High School for the past two years. Mrs. Wolfe comes to us with 18 years of teaching experience. Her experience includes teaching elementary school, middle school, high school and English as a Second Language to adult students. Majoring in History and Elementary Education, Mrs. Wolfe holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hunter College of the City University of New York. She has also completed graduate course work in Educational Leadership at NOVA Southeastern University. Mrs. Wolfe enjoys spending time with her husband of 20 years and their two daughters. She is the proud parent of an alumni and current student of St. Patrick Catholic School.




Summer Bowman
Mrs. Bowman is returning for her second year at Saint Patrick School to serve as Librarian, 2nd Grade Literacy Assistant, Study Hall teacher, and as Remote Learning Coordinator. She previously worked as a Teachers Aide in our Preschool class. Mrs. Bowman and her family have been with the Saint Patrick Church community for the last 10 years.




Heather Wertz
Heather Wertz is in her 6th year at Saint Patrick School and serves as the Resource Teacher serving all students K-8th. Heather holds a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education as well as a Masters Degree in Special Education.




Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Judy Santay
Mrs. Santay is in her second year as our Marketing & Communications Coordinator, where she handles all of the school’s social media and advertising. She’s been a PTO board member, and spent the past four years as one of our substitute teachers. She’s currently the Race Director for the St. Patrick 5k Mud Run and 1 Mile Fun Run and enjoys working on the school yearbook and taking pictures around the school. Mrs. Santay attended the University of Washington and majored in Marketing. She and her husband have two children, both students at St. Patrick School. She loves to travel with her family on trips to Disney World and enjoys teaching her kids how to cook.



Extended day

Margaret McClay
Margaret McClay has been an active member of Saint Patrick School and Church since the very beginning. Since 1991 her many positions have included: Secretary, Preschool Aide, Kindergarten Aide, Extended Day Manager, PTO President, as well as teaching in the Religious Education classes. She was married to the late Deacon McClay and has three children, two of which graduated from Saint Patrick. Her daughter Sister Bernadette is a Benedictine of Mary, Queen of Apostles in Missouri. Currently, she has three grandchildren; two have graduated from our school and the other will soon follow. In her spare time she likes to power walk with her dog.




Krissy Roberts
Krissy Roberts is a member of our extended day staff. This is her 8th year working in extended day. She has worked with children since 1998 in pre-schools and daycare. In 2000 she worked as an aide in kindergarten at St. Patrick and a substitute teacher for grades K -8. Mrs. Roberts also volunteered for library duty while her children attended St. Patrick. Working with children has always been her passion as well as being a mother. she has been a member of the parish since 1989.

James Duffy
For many years Mr. Duffy has been the maintenance man, morning greeter, and Guardian Angel program coordinator for Saint Patrick School. He has quietly and respectfully provided food baskets, household supplies, and emergency funds for many families in need. Mr. Duffy assists St. Patrick School with just about anything we might need.
