Student Life

At the heart of our philosophy is the total development of the individual student through experiences that strengthen the mind, body and soul.  To achieve this we are always seeking a balance of activities that promote spiritual and moral formation, academic growth, physical development, leadership… and fun!

As a Catholic School in the Diocese of Arlington, Spiritual Formation is at the forefront of what we do.  In addition to all of the activities one would expect in the life of a Catholic school student, during your time here you will also have the opportunity to attend any number of special events that are designed to help you grow in and express your faith.  From special service projects to help the poor in our area, to standing up for life at the annual March For Life in DC, we are dedicated to the notion that what we learn in our religion classes needs to be lived in our community.

Athletics are also an important part of life at Saint Patrick School.  In addition to regular PE classes, we offer opportunities for students in middle school to participate in intermural sports teams as well as intramural teams as an elective course. Currently, we have girls and boys basketball, girls and boys soccer, and girls field hockey. We also have  a baseball club, and a cheerleading team.

Clubs and Leadership Groups are also available.  Each year students are inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.  In addition, we have elected positions in Student Government.  Both organizations help to plan the various student activities throughout the year, and give students an opportunity to build leadership skills.  Newspaper Club, Choir, Band, and Battle of the Books are among the other clubs and teams that are available.

Finally, specific mention needs to be made of the activities that are designed for pure fun and building a sense of community!  Throughout the year we have special dress days, field trips, class parties, and other ways in which we let off a little steam!  We also celebrate Catholic Schools Week with special activities and participate in diocesan events like the Middle School Rally which is held every year.  And we can’t forget to mention the annual Talent Show in which students from all grades help to put on the best show ever!

This is just a small glimpse into the life of a Saint Patrick School student.  We hope that you will contact us to learn more and to visit our campus.
